The Public Amenities Division of Chisinau on December 16 engaged 15 vehicles and 150 employees in works to deice and clean sidewalks and access ways inside yards of apartment buildings and at public transport stations, IPN reports.

According to the information presented in a meeting called at the Chisinau City Hall, eight HACO machines and seven tractors with salt spreaders dispersed 41 tonnes of salt. In this connection, acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu warned the district heads, the Public Amenities Division and the Road Maintenance Company “Exdrupo” to be ready to intervene and act according to plan.

He requested the municipal services to mobilize and ensure the cleaning of sidewalks, access ways to stations, the yards of apartment buildings, the main and secondary streets used by public transport and the access ways to suburban localities. He underlined the necessity of repeatedly informing the business entities to clean the sidewalks they manage so as to avoid the formation of a layer of ice, in accordance with their legal obligations.
