Business entities that run commercial enterprises located within 100 meters of polling places in Chisinau are banned from selling alcoholic beverages on November 13, IPN reports.

The Chisinau City Hall said the decision was taken at the request of the Chisinau Police Division in a move to ensure the smooth running of the presidential elections, to maintain public order, to guarantee the security of people and to prevent possible perturbations at polling places.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati said the business entities that will not comply face a fine of 600 to 800 lei or 40 to 60 hours of community service.
