The personnel of medical and rehabilitation institutions for orphan or abandoned children, children whose parents were deprived of custody or children with disabilities left in government care, will get salary raises under a Government decision. The raise will be of 80% for medical personnel and 50% for other types of personnel, such as nurses or caretakers, Info-Prim Neo reports. Health Minister Andrei Usatyi said the decision aims to reduce staff turnover in such institutions. The Minister gave the example of the Chisinau Placement and Rehabilitation Center for Young Children, which requires 287 staff, but had only 242 at the start of the year. The raises are effective from October 1. Following this, the salary of a doctor will reach 3,475 lei, nurses will get 2,893 lei, and inferior medical personnel 2,920 lei. The salary of a young-specialist doctor will rise from 1,330 to 2,327 lei.
