The average gross monthly salary earnings this June were 4,203.9 lei, up by 8.9 % from the similar month last year. The average salary in the budgetary sector was 3,816.1 lei, averaging 4,361.3 lei in the real economy sector, according to the National Statistics Bureau.
The largest salaries were in the ITC sector, averaging 8,290.6 lei a month, and the lowest were in agriculture, forestry and fishery, standing at 2,569.1 lei.
The real salary earnings index for June 2014, as compared to June 2013, measured as a proportion between the gross nominal salary earning index and the consumer price index, was 103.7%. Meaning that, even thought salaries rose by 8.9% nominally, the Moldovans' purchase power rose by only 3.7%.
In 2013, the minimum subsistence level was calculated at 1,612.3 lei per person. The value will be updated in September.
