The inspection bodies of Russia, in the case of the Moldovan agricultural products, show extreme subjectivism and base their decisions on exclusively political factors, considers the president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Gheorghe Duca and managing academician of the Agricultural Sciences Division Boris Gaina, IPN reports.

The academicians stated that the physical-chemical indicators of the Moldovan products are an invented pretext. “It is well known that every time Moldova is close to taking one more rather determined step towards European integration, the political administration of Russia, including the state bodies controlled by it, do their utmost to thwart our efforts to join the EU,” Gheorghe Duca and Boris Gaina said in a communiqué.

According to them, the given dispute is a false one and can be solved legally and objectively only by monitoring the qualitative and quantitative indicators of the exported products not only in Russia, but also in any other CIS member state and in the EU.

“We are sure that only this way will we be able to strengthen our traditional economic relations. Otherwise, we will have to make use of international arbitration in order to resolve the disputes between the Moldovan producers and the Russian inspection bodies, including Rospotrebnadzor,” said the academicians.

Russia banned the import of Moldovan wines earlier this week.
