Russian Theater Festival opened with performance of Romanian music
The second International Chamber Theater and Small Plays Festival “Moldfest.Rampa.ru", which is organized by the Theater from the Rose Street, was opened at the National Philharmonic on November 23 with a Romanian music concert. Up to four plays will be presented daily by November 30, when the festival will close, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Iuri Harmelin, director of the Theater from the Rose Street, said he was glad that despite numerous problems faced, the festival was organized this year as well. Russian Ambassador to Moldova Valery Kuzmin stressed the importance of the Russian culture, saying the organization of the festival was possible owing to the value of the Russian theater and the development of the Russian culture.
Master Titus Jucov, director of the National Puppet Theater “Licurici”, congratulated the organizers, saying the role of the theater is to present the variety of the world in an artistic form. “Where there is genius, there is no malice,” he said, quoting A.S.Pushkin.
Eighteen Russian theater troupes from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the UK, Israel, Germany, Romania, the Baltic Countries and other states will perform plays during the festival. The event is held under the auspices of the “Russkii Mir” Foundation.
Tickets costs between 100 and 200 lei. Most of the plays will be presented at the Theater from the Rose Street. Several will be staged at “Satiricus. Ion Luca Caragiale” and the Russian Theater “Anton P. Cehov”. The program of the festival is available on www.teatr.md.
