Russian and Moldovan presidents agree to resume exports of Moldovan wine and meat to Russia

President of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin decided on Tuesday, November 28 upon resuming the exports of Moldovan wines and meat to the Russian Federation. The two presidents met within the frameworks of the CIS summit, which took pace in Minsk, Belarus. Vladimir Putin, cited by the Russian press, stated that the experts of the two countries will carry out joint quality controls as regards the agricultural production from the Moldovan enterprises. As a first step, the import will be performed by specialized enterprises, which will not allow for import of counterfeited production, Putin declared. President Putin announced about the intention of the parties to resume talks on the Transnistrian dispute, especially that lately, according to him, a series of efforts were undertaken to bring near the both standpoints. Putin also declared that all CIS leaders agreed upon the need of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Everyone expressed the unanimous belief that CIS still has potential and development perspectives. Recently, serious changes occurred in the CIS area, and the organization must adapt to the new conditions, Russian President added.
