Russian ambassador promises support to Moldovans from Gagauzia

Russian Ambassador in Chisinau Farit Muhametshin promised that his country will provide assistance to the Territorial Administrative Unit of Gagauzia. A group of consular officials of the Russian Embassy will soon travel to Comrat to provide consular services in southern Moldova. The Russian diplomat made the promises in a meeting of the council of doyens of Gagauzia, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Russian Embassy, the ambassador was invited to the meeting that involved the Governor of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal, the chairman of the People’s Assembly Dmitri Constantinov, and representatives of the council of doyens from all the settlements of Gagauzia.

The participants asked the Russian diplomat to provide assistance to the veterans and to support the young people of the autonomous region. They also discussed the access of the Gagauz migrants in Russia to consular services and other related issues.

Farit Muhametshin promised that a team of consular employees will visit Comrat. The sides will design a program to provide support to veterans, purchase tickets to Moldovan sanatoriums for them and the drugs needed by them.
