Russia suspends sale of train tickets for Ukraine and transit routes
Russia will not sell tickets for train routes to Ukraine and transit routes crossing this country until December 3, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the website of the Russian publication “Vedomosti”.
According to the publication, the decision was taken in connection with the fact that Ukraine switches to winter time this weekend, though it earlier announced that it wouldn’t do it.
“The sale of train tickets was suspended owing to the necessity of modifying the train schedules. This will happen swiftly and the passengers will be additionally informed about the resumption of the sale of tickets,” said an official of Russia’s Railways.
Ukraine’s Supreme Rada in September decided to cancel the switch to winter time, but later annulled this decision. As a result, for the first time the difference between the local time in Ukraine and Russia will be two hours.
