Russia replaces its ambassador to Moldova

The Russian Federation decided to substitute its ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. Oleg Ozerov will replace current ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov, IPN reports.

Oleg Vasnetsov was relieved of his position by a decree signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Also by presidential decree, Oleg Ozerov was appointed to this position.

The Russian press reported that Oleg Ozerov is a diplomat by career, who since May 2020 has held the position of ambassador-at-large and head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.

Oleg Vasnetsov was appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova in April 2018 and replaced Farit Muhametshin, who held post since 2012.
