Russia provides pension bonuses of 165 rubles to Transnistrians

The elderly persons in the Transnistrian region will receive a bonus to pensions of 165 rubles (195 lei) over the next three months. The money is allocated from the humanitarian assistance provided by Russia to the Transnistrian administration, IPN reports.

On its website, “Novyi Region” Agency reports that the bonus to pensions has been offered to Transnistrian pensioners from the Russian funds since 2008. In Transnistrian rubles it is equal to US$15. The sum in rubles is calculated quarterly. For the next three months, it will be 165 rubles.

Besides paying bonus to pensions, the Russian money is also used to improve the menus in medical and education institutions.

In Transnistria there are about 140,000 pensioners. With the bonus provided by Russia, the average pension exceeds slightly US$100.
