Russia must find good reason to nicely leave Transnistria, MAE vice president

Moldova submitted seven amendments to the OSCE Resolution on Moldova, which have been approved by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe that convened in Norway's Oslo the previous days. One of the amendments says Russia must withdraw its troops from Transnistria and this amendment was supported by Russia, the vice president of the European Action Movement (MAE) Iurie Colesnic said in a news conference on July 13, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Russia must find a good reason to nicely leave Transnistria,” Iurie Colesnic said. He said no term for pulling out the army was set. “I cannot say Russia will not fulfill this amendment because it voted in favor,” the MP said, adding that so far this country broke all the terms related to this commitment. According to Iurie Colesnic, the conclusion reached at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was that Moldova has many foreign friends as well as enemies, but the greatest enemy is Moldova itself. “Europe wants the Transnistrian conflict to be settled, but Moldova does not want it very much. Nothing will change until we – the parties and citizens – do not join our forces. Only by national union will we be able to reach an agreement,” the MP stressed. “All the parties must support the national interest. The parties of the government coalition pursue their own interests. I hope the situation will now change and we, the politicians, will come to terms.” He also said the seven amendments submitted by Moldova were signed by all the Moldovan parties, including the PCRM. They were backed by Italy, France, Germany and Romania. Iurie Colesnic was the only representative of Moldova at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
