Russia is against adopting a declaration on behalf the actions of the leaders from Tiraspol
Russian Federation is against adopting the declaration of the Ministers Committee of the Council of Europe, which have sentenced the actions of the leaders from Tiraspol against the activity of local NGOs, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE). The document was proposed for examination at the recent meeting of the delegates of Ministers Committee of the Council of Europe by the Moldovan delegation in the context of debates on the decree issued by Transnistrian leader that forbids financing non-governmental organizations from the region from foreign sources.
Many delegations such as Romanian, Ukrainian, Georgian, Polish, Latvian, Irish and Czech agreed upon the declaration’s adoption, but it was impossible to adopt the document because of the fact that the procedure stipulates a unanimous vote of the participants.
