Russia imposed an embargo on all the wine products made in Moldova. The announcement was made by the head of the Russian food safety body Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko on September 10, IPN has learned from Interfax Agency.

Gennady Onishchenko said the ban imposed on Moldovan wine products on the Russian market will be valid until the Moldovan authorities take definite steps to resolve the system problem. “We are not disposed to play the role of babysitter for the Moldovan economy,” he stated.

In the morning of September 10, Gennady Onishchenko said that the last eight consignments of Moldovan wine products didn’t meet the sanitary norms.
