Rusca inmates keen to vote
Only one inmate out of 257 female convicts with a right to vote serving their sentences at the women's penitentiary in Rusca refused to vote in the November 28 elections, Info-Prim Neo has learned from Ana Racu, spokesperson for the Penitentiary Department.
By 17:00 the convicts in all the 17 penitentiaries managed to cast their ballots. No major incidents were registered and the turnout was overall rather high, said Ana Racu. In the Pruncul penitentiary, 184 out of 186 convicts eligible to vote exerted this right.
There are a total of 6,274 convicts in Moldova's penitentiaries and 5,013 of them have the right to vote.
