Rural medical institutions will be provided with equipment by U.S.-sponsored project
The United States of America intends to provide Moldovan medical institutions with equipment, Info-Prim Neo reports with reference to the Government press service.
The U.S. is developing a humanitarian aid project aimed at providing Moldovan rural medical institutions with equipment worth 10 million USD, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Michael D. Kirby told Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev at a meeting.
According to the Ambassador, the United States will cover the installation works and will train the personnel how to use the equipment. The diplomat was accompanied by a group of U.S. health experts.
Vasile Tarlev stated for his part that the Moldovan Government pays special attention to the modernisation of the health care system and welcomes the support of its partners in this field. The Prime Minister stressed the opportunity of expanding the coverage of this project over the localities from the Transnistrian region, with the aim of improving the quality of medical services offered to the population.
