The conditions and principles for the participation of the National Army contingent in the operation of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) have been established today in a technical agreement, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
The bilateral agreement also sets out the responsibilities of the parties, as well as logistical and medical support, provision of communication and information systems, transportation of the contingent to / from the mission and others. The document was signed by Colonel Anatolie Zavtur of the General Staff of the National Army and the defense attaché of the Italian Republic, Colonel Ivano Antonio Romano.
According to the Ministry, the representatives of the National Army in this mission will be accommodated and provided with food, medical assistance, means of transport and communications. For its part, the Ministry of Defense will cover the expenses related to the payment of the indemnity, the training of the military, the provision of military equipment, some of which will be reimbursed later through a United Nations mechanism.
The National Army is to participate in UNIFIL next month. A decision in this regard was approved in November last year by the Moldovan Parliament.
