The protesters will continue the protests, while the rulers will delay satisfying their demands in the hope that things will calm down. Such a statement was made in the talk show “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
Alexandu Slusari, a member of the Council of the Great National Assembly that was constituted last Sunday, assured that the peaceful protests will continue until their demands are met. “The mood of people who come to the protest is different from that of the rulers. I didn’t see so many dissatisfied people together for a long time. We will not give up,” he stated.
Mariana Kalughin, one of the protest organizers of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”, said people of different political orientations and ethnic groups protest against the government. “It is for the first time that so different people united for a common goal. This was the key aim of those from the Platform. This town of tents set up in the central square of Chisinau does not belong to the Platform “Dignity and Truth”. The rulers will make effort to annihilate the protesters’ enthusiasm and will delay things as long as they can,” she stated.
The ex-head of the parliamentary commission on human rights Stela Jantuan also believes that the authorities will delay having a dialogue with the protesters. “I think their position is to wait and delay things so that the revolutionary spirit calms down. I think the government makes a mistake by avoiding discussing with the voters,” she stated.
