Rugby sports complex to be built on plot in Budesti
The mayor of Budesti village of Chisinau municipality Nina Costiuc said the mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca was misinformed about the plot that the mayor’s office intends to sell, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Certain persons wanted to do harm and put us in an unfavorable light. I plead for justice and transparency, as you do. I assure you that I’m a correct mayor,” Nina Costiuc said in the March 12 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials.
According to the major of Budesti, the plot is 4 hectares in area, not 20 as they said. A social facility will be built there – a sports complex for rugby. Nina Costiuc admitted that the plot is farmland, but the local authorities do not have the about 1 million lei needed to change its purpose.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca demanded that the plot’s purpose should be changed into land for construction. “The law must be respected. Construction works can be performed there only after the purpose of the plot is modified,” he stated.
The land was auctioned for 2 million lei. In a meeting last week, Dorin Chirtoaca said that the price will be higher if the purpose of the plot is changed. He stressed that plots are sold at auction as farmland and when they become private propriety their purpose is changed into plots for construction, while their price increases 10 times. In such cases, it is the persons who become owners of these plots gain advantages, not the local public administration.
