Routes used in driving exams modified

In the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, the routes used in driving exams have been modified. The road sections with heavy traffic and where traffic jams often occur were excluded. The new system enables to examine three candidates on a route without returning to the starting point, IPN reports, with reference to the Public Services Agency.

In the municipality of Chisinau, the number of examination routes for driving categories/subcategories B, BE, D1, D1E and D was cut from ten to five. The length of a route was increased to 21 km, from almost 8 km until now, by 7 km for each candidate. The number of examination routes for driving categories/subcategories C1, C1E, C and CE was decreased from five to three. The length of a route was extended from 8 to 24 km, by 8 km for each candidate.

In Balti municipality, the examination routes No. 5 and 6 for categories/subcategories B, BE, D1, D1E and D were modified and a new route, No. 9, was added. The length of routes was extended from 7.5 km to 9.5 km. By only one candidate will be examined on one route. There will be four examination routes for categories/subcategories C1, C1E, C and CE, which are 10 to 19 km long. By one or two persons will be examined on one route, depending on the length of the route.

The routes for each candidate are chosen randomly by an automated system. Before taking the driving exam, the candidate is allowed to cover a distance of up to 100 meters to adjust to the vehicle.
