Rosselhoznadzor wants Moldovan potatoes as well
The delegation of Russia's agriculture food watchdog Rosselhoznadzor, which had been in Moldova on a working visit, remained surprised at the quality of the Moldovan fruit and vegetables and at the work done in the fields, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov has told Info-Prim Neo.
According to the official, the delegation headed by the Rosselhoznadzor deputy head Alexei Saurin traveled to Romanesti, Briceni, Edinet, Straseni and Panasesti. They also visited the laboratories of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture.
“They saw the orchards, vineyards, technologies, fridges, went to the fields to see how the crops are collected and how they are then packed,” said Vasile Bumacov. “It was a rather important mission as we now have the possibility of promoting our goods. They did not expect to see such a high level of work. The relations normalized and I hope nothing unexpected will happen.”
The deputy minister said the specialists of Rosselhoznadzor were surprised by the potato harvest and urged the Moldovan producers to export potatoes to Russia as well.
The delegation of Rosselhoznadzor had been in Moldova between September 23 and 25. The experts came to collect facts after Russia accepted all the 140 companies proposed by Moldova as exporters of fruit and vegetables. The list does not include the 33 companies that earlier encountered export-related problems.
