Rospotrebnadzor did not inform Moldovan authorities about embargo on wine products

No official document came from Rospotrebnadzor informing about the institution of an embargo on the Moldovan wine products, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc told Info-Prim Neo's reporter. He said this incident that is technical in character should not be politicized. According to him, there may be some deviations from the set norms, but this does not mean that all the wine products exported to Russia are unsafe to drink. “I and representatives of the specialized subdivisions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry thoroughly analyzed the mechanisms for checking the quality of the wine products exported to Russia. The permanent bilateral dialogue with the Russian partners is based on sincerity and responsibility. Both Chisinau and Moscow do not exclude the necessity of additionally testing certain products, but both of the sides are committed to promoting civilized commercial relations,” Valeriu Cosarciuc said. On July 7, it was announced that 23 trucks with Moldovan bottled wine and 23 trucks and two freight cars with non-bottled wine are now at the Solntsevo terminal near Moscow, waiting to be issued with quality certificates.
