Romanians from Moldova are against President Traian Basescu’s dismissal

The Romanian citizens from Moldova will vote against the dismissal of Romania’s President Traian Basescu in the May 19 referendum, the appeal made by the participants in the meeting organized to support Basescu in Chisinau on May 13 says. The appeal, which was sent to Info-Prim Neo, reads that Traian Basescu is the only president that tackled openly the issue of Bessarabia and emphasized the necessity of bringing the eastern Romanian territories back to the motherland. In a message to the Romanian head of state adopted at Sunday’s meeting, the authors say that they are expecting a clear and unequivocal signal to launch the liquidation of the consequences of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. The message is signed by the Unionist Movement of Moldova and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Antipact Association. On May 19, the Romanian citizens will take part in a referendum and vote for or against the dismissal of the Romanian President Traian Basescu. The Romanians from Moldova will be able to express their opinion on this issue at a polling station that will be opened at the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.
