The graduates who want to continue their studies in Romania besieged the Romanian University Fair that was opened in the central park of Chisinau on July 6. These inquired about the educational offer, the admission period and the documents they need to study over the Prut, IPN reports.
Nicolae Cojocaru, president of the Federation of Associations of Bessarabians (FAB) of Romania, said the fair involved representatives of 18 Romanian associations of Bessarabians from 18 towns. Each association studies the internal methodology and the list of places available to Bessarabians at universities and provides topical information. The event was organized for the sixth consecutive year. “It is very important that the young people be informed because they should know what they need and what the forecasts are before they reach the universities in Romania,” stated Nicolae Cojocaru.
FAB Romania vice president Cristin Murafa noted the students should know that starting with this year the documents are submitted not in Moldova, but in Romania, at the university, including by mail or email. It is yet safer to travel to the university and file the documents in person. The list of required documents differs from institution to institution and even from faculty to faculty. The admission period also differs. This starts on July 10 at the earliest and on July 25 at the latest.
Almost 3,000 places to study for a Bachelor’s degree, over 1,000 places to study for a Master’s degree and more than 200 places to study for a Doctor’s degree are available to Bessarabians at all the universities in Romania. But these can increase the number of places intended for Bessarabians at their own expense. Starting with this year, the students will get a scholarship in summer as well.
The young people who came to the fair said they want to study at a university in Romania because they consider the studies there are of a higher quality. Moreover, a European diploma, regardless of the area, will offer them additional employment possibilities.
The fair will continue in the Public Garden “Stephan the Great” on July 7 as well. On July 8, it will move to the square of the National Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” in Balti, while on July 9 will be staged at the State University “B. P. Hasdeu” in Cahul.
