Romanian theater stages mini-tournament in Moldova

The Chisinau-based Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” has announced that the Children’s and Youth Theater “Luceafarul” of Iasi will go on a mini-tournament in Moldova, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Institute, the tournament will cover Anenii Noi, Soroca and Balti. The theater will present the plays “Fram, the Polar Bear” by Cezar Petrescu and “The Bremen Town Musicians” by the Brothers Grimm.

The play “Fram, the Polar Bear” ensures the artistic meeting of the children and a famous character from the Romanian literature. It is directed by Constantin Brehnescu. Scene painting is by Axenti Marfa of the Iasi National Theater, choreography by Ligia Delia Grozdan of the Iasi Arts University “George Enescu”, while music is by Radu Sandulovici.

“The Bremen Town Musicians” is a co-production of the Iasi Theater “Luceafarul” and the German Cultural Institute of Iasi. As any other tale, it has a moral undertone and reminds the children that they must respect the elder generations from whom they can learn many things. It also urges them to be united as union means power.

The play is produced by Oltita Cantec, verses are by Catalin Mihai Stefan, direction by Ion Ciubotaru, scene painting by Viorica Perju, while music is by Radu Sanduloviciu.
