Romanian singer becomes People’s Artist in Moldova

President Nicolae Timofti signed a decree to confer the honorific title of People’s Artist on Romanian pop music singer Dida Dragan, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential press service.

The title was conferred in gratitude for the special contribution to developing the musical art and to promoting the cultural values and the organization of benefit events for children with disabilities from Moldova.

Dida Dragan is a singer and author of song texts. She made her debut in the singing contest “Bucuresti '71” where she won the top prize with the song “Old piano” by Vasile V. Vasilache.
