Romanian prosecutor starts work at National Anticorruption Center

An expert in economic and financial crimes was presented to the administration of the National Anticorruption Center on September 15. This is Mariana Alexandru, who is a prosecutor with rich experience of work within the National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania. The expert was chosen by the EU Delegation as a result of approaches made by the National Anticorruption Center to embassies to provide assistance in investigating economic and financial offenses, IPN reports.

In a communique, the National Anticorruption Center says Mariana Alexandru takes up her duties on September 15. She will organize broad deliberations with the prosecutors and anticorruption experts, where to learn the best practices from the international legislation.

The representatives of the National Anticorruption Center expressed their confidence that Mariana Alexandru’s experience as a prosecutor will be useful for formulating recommendations for improving the legal anticorruption framework and for efficiently investigating the economic and financial crimes.
