The newly-installed Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will make a visit to Chisinau at an unspecified date in January on the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart Nicolae Timofti. Klaus Iohannis will have meetings with a number of Moldovan officials.

Moldovan presidential spokesperson Vlad Turcanu has told IPN the date of the visit and the agenda are yet to be established.

Visiting Chisinau for the first time on November 28, some two weeks after being elected President, Klaus Iohannis stated he would like to see Moldova become a EU member during his term.
