Romanian Premier comes to Chisinau Thursday

The Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă is expected to pay a visit to Moldova on Thursday. While in Chisinau, the official will have meetings with his Moldovan counterpart Dorin Recean, President Maia Sandu and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, IPN reports.

The Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă told a news conference that the visit by Premier Ciucă is a visit of response to the one made by Dorin Recean to Bucharest on March 1.

“Prime Minister Ciucă’s visit confirms Romanian’s strong support to do reforms and make progress in the European integration of our country, to strengthen the economy through the multiple projects implemented together with the Romanian side and to build our state’s resilience and security,” noted Daniel Vodă.

The two Prime Ministers will have a tête-à-tête meeting and will then have discussions together with the delegations. Later, Dorin Recean and Nicolae Ciucă will give a joint news conference, starting at 11:50am.

“Romania was, is and will remain by our country and will unconditionally support the Republic of Moldova’s accelerated accession to the EU. This visit is a powerful message transmitted to our country and we appreciate it,” noted the Government’s spokesman.
