Romanian police identify Moldovan linked to Road Police corruption case

The police from the Romanian city of Iasi identified the Moldovan appearing in tapped phone talks conducted by Romanian road policemen, accused of bribe, influence peddling and power abuse, writes the Bucharest newspaper Evenimentul Zilei, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. He was doing business in Piatra Neamt town, and according to the newspaper's sources, he would have phoned Romanian officer Razvan Marciuc to ask his colleagues to clear drivers with problematic documents or involved in car accidents. The Moldovan businessman is probed for bribe and will be interrogated by the Romanian police next Monday. According to the Romanian newspaper, the Moldovan citizen was setting a meeting with Marciuc, telling him he got an envelope for him, but it's not clear what was in it. 49 former and present employees of the road police from Iasi are searched in this case.
