A Romanian national, 33, has been convicted and extradited from France to be brought to justice in Moldova for sexual exploitation, the General Police Inspectorate announced.
In 2017, the man recruited a number of Moldovan women via social media and convinced them to prostitute themselves in the Romanian city of Constanța. He was put on an international wanted list in 2018.
The man was arrested by officers of the Center for Combating Trafficking in Persons and the Directorate for International Police Cooperation, in partnership with French law enforcement.
The man is to serve 3 years and 8 months in a Moldovan jail.
