That’s why it is very important for those who will represent Romania and who undertook to represent the Republic of Moldova in the European Parliament to be politicians who know well the situation on the left side of the Prut and the interests of the citizens who want very much Moldova’s European course to be resumed, the president of the National Liberal Party Diaspora Romania-Republic of Moldova Adrian Dupu was quoted by IPN as saying in a program on Jurnal TV channel.

“After May 26, the situation in the Republic of Moldova will be reflected depending on who will be more vocal among the Romanians in the European Parliament. We need people who would reflect the situation objectively, not in a truncated way, depending on particular interests promoted here,” stated the Romanian politician.

Adrian Dupu said the PNL’s offer is to have a representation mandate for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova as well.

“WatchDog” expert Valeriu Pașa said the importance of the vote in Moldova for the Romanian parties is rather symbolical. It is important for the parties in Romania to show that they care about the Republic of Moldova and this is good. “For us, it is important who will represent Romania in the European Parliament so that the Romanian MEPs are the most vocal ones when Moldova’s problems are debated as part of resolutions in the EP or of smaller activities,” stated the expert.

Valeriu Pașa said the political power in Moldova could help a particular associate Romanian party to win more votes at the upcoming EP elections. He referred to the organized transportation of voters witnessed at national elections in Moldova.

The elections to the European Parliament will take place this Sunday, May 26. A number of 36 polling stations for the Moldovans with Romanian nationality to cast their ballots will be established in Moldova.
