The entry into the European Union depends on the maintenance of governmental and legislative stability while having a pro-European ruling alliance, stated the co-chairman of the Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament Romania and the Parliament of Moldova Florin Constantinescu. In a press briefing after the Commission’s meeting, the Romanian MP said that Romania is the most important supporter of Moldova’s European path, IPN reports.
“We followed the road that you cover now. You should put to good use the gratuitous experience that we can now offer to you. Within the Commission, we noted that that you can benefit from exchange of experts and staff in adjusting the legislation to the European Union’s legislation,” stated Florin Constantinescu. He added that the exchange of experience will be continued within the commissions on areas of activity.
The co-chairman on behalf of Moldova George Mocanu said that in today’s meeting they discussed the implementation level of the Association Agreement with the EU and the parliamentary cooperation projects. The Commission will meet again on June 23 and the agenda includes the problem of expired Romanian passports of minor applicants for Romanian nationality and the extension of the border crossing points between the two states.
At the end of the meeting, the MPs will sign the Declaration of the fifth Meeting of the Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament Romania and the Parliament of Moldova that was convened after a pause of two years.
