Romanian MFA regrets lack of official communication in visa scandal with Chisinau
Romanian minister of foreign affairs Adrian Cioroianu considers regrettable the fact that the Romanian MFA did not receive an official notice from the authorities of Moldova in what concerns the violation of regulations on the issuance of visas at the Consulate of Romania in Chisinau. MFA has officially asked details from the Moldovan party, by means of the embassy of Moldova to Bucharest and the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, about the information presented at the news conference held on August 17, 2007 by the deputy-minister of interiors of Moldova , Valentin Zubic.
The information was offered to Info-Prim Neo by the Communication Department of MFA of Romania as an answer to the request to comment on the statements made on Friday by the deputy-minister of internal affairs of Moldova.
According to Valentin Zubic, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova found an organised network which was illegally obtaining Romanian visas. One of the network’s participants was a high official of the Romanian Consulate in Chisinau. MFA did not divulge the name of the official. The same source says that two citizens of Moldova investigated in this case recognised their guilt and one of them was detained.
