Romanian language teachers and students assisted to study Romanian outside Romania

Romanian language teachers from the Republic of Moldova and students who study in Romanian can benefit from assistance from Romania. The Department for the Relations with Romanians Abroad has launched an own project entitled “University Education in the Romanian Language”. The program consists in the purchase of laptops that are to be distributed to foreign Romanian language teachers and Romanian students who attend Romanian language courses at foreign universities, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Department.

“Knowledge and use of the Romanian language are the main vectors for conserving and developing the feeling of affiliation to the Romanian linguistic and cultural identity outside borders. Both for historical communities and for the diaspora, supporting teaching in the Romanian language is the main strategic objective of the Department for the Relations with Romanians Abroad that set the goal of developing and implementing programs and activities to support and develop education in the Romanian language at all the levels and forms of education,” runs the press release.

Applications to get a laptop within the program can be submitted by November 20, 2021 to the electronic address secretariat@dprp.gov.ro. Copies of the documents requested by the organizers, which can be seen here, must be attached.

The applications will be processed by the Department for the Relations with Romanians Abroad. If the number of applicants is higher than of the purchased laptops, the Department will satisfy the requests in the order in which they will come.
