Romanian-language pre-university education institutions of Transnistrian region, which are under Chisinau supervision, could hire civil guardians to ensure pupils and teachers’ security. The guards, unarmed and recruited of the rows of the Moldovan citizens, will be paid at the beginning of the stock fund of the government of Moldova, according to parliament’s report. It was discussed about this recently at a meeting of the legislative speaker, Marian Lupu, with the principals of Moldovan schools and high schools of left bank of river Dniestre. The principles underlined the necessity to hire civil guards of the rows of Moldovan citizens, living on the left bank of river Dniestre, in order to ensure pupils and teachers’ security. As result of discussions, it was taken the decision to set the number of needed guards, whose activity could be managed after making some changes in the Law on budget for 2006. The necessary financial and material assistance to schools and high schools of Transnistria will be included in modifications of the articles to Law on budget 2006. According to principles, the main problems that the Moldovan schools of Transnistria deal with are the lack of appropriate rooms for classes, insufficient didactic materials and transport for pupils. To speaker’s proposals, the principles of the schools of Transnistria together with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, will present next weeks a detailed list of necessities, which will be examined during the meetings of appropriate parliamentary commissions. „The needs of schools will be ensured in few stages, according to their priority,” Marian Lupu mentioned. Victor Stepaniuc, chairman of the parliamentary commission on culture, education, youth, sports and mass media; Victor Tvircun, minister of education, youth and sports; and Deputy Vladimir Dragomir attended this meeting, too.
