On Sunday, August 31, 10 years of the Romanian Language House will be marked. On this occasion, the House will launch the 7/8-2008 edition of the magazine “Limba Romana” and a book on functional grammar. The event will also be an occasion to launch an exhibition by painter Dumitru Musteata themed “Color. Word and Feeling”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The event will be held in the spirit of the celebrations dedicated to the Romanian language. In the Great National Assembly, at 17.00m, the pan flute player Gheorghe Zamfir will perform accompanied by the Lautarii Orchestra, conducted by Nicolae Botgros, and the Mugurel orchestra accompanying Ana Barbu, Olga Ciolacu, Mihai Ciobanu, Maria Sarabas, Silvia Gradinaru, Constantin Rotaru. In the concert dedicated to the Our Language holiday the singers Natalia Barbu, Geta Burlacu, Iurie Sadovnic, Adrian Ursu, Catharsis, Pavel Stratan, Studio One, Catalin Josan and other will perform. The holiday will start with a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Saint Stephen the Great. In the Great Public Garden a performance for children will start at 10.00, followed by the municipal orchestra of the Advahov brothers’ orchestra accompanied by Zinaida Julea, Doina Sulac, Igor Cuciuc. The National Library will open the International Book Fair, while “Constantin Brancusi” expo center will host a contest exhibition. On Saturday, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Alley of Classical Writers ends the cultural program organized by the Chisinau City Hall. People will read poetry at 19.00. Another event to take place on Saturday will mark a decade of the opening of the Alba-Iulia Library, with guests from Romania being expected.
