Romanian Language Day will be celebrated by all Romanians, Eugen Tomac
The candidate for a seat in the Parliament of Romania Eugen Tomac, who now serves as presidential adviser, Wednesday said that starting with next year the Romanian Language Day will be marked on August 31 in Romania too.
Eurgen Tomac told a news conference in Chisinau that the bill drafted by him and Senator Viorel Badea was countersigned by MPs from all the parliamentary groups of Romania and is to be validated by the Chamber of Deputies. He voiced hope that this bill will be soon adopted. “It’s more than certain that the Romanian citizens will celebrate the Romanian Language Day on August 31 from next year,” he stated.
Eugen Tomac called on the Romanian citizens in Moldova to take part in the December 9 parliamentary elections of Romania. “It’s an extraordinary chance for the Romanians from this part of the Prut to give a lesson to those from Bucharest and to show them that they obtained Romanian nationality not only for being able to travel freely in Europe, but that they are Romanian citizens who deserve this right,” said the candidate.
A number of 19 polling places for the Romanian legislative elections will be opened in Moldova on December 9. According to the Ambassador of Romania in Chisinau Marius Lazurca, this is the largest number of polling places established in Moldova for the Romanian elections. Four of the 19 polling places will be situated in Chisinau and by one in Ialoveni, Orhei, Nisporeni, Causeni, Hancesti, Calarasi, Balti, Ungheni, Soroca, Cahul, Cimislia, Cantemir, Telenesti, Drochia, and Stefan-Voda.
