The Romanian medical humanitarian mission that worked at hospitals in Chisinau, Cahul and Bălți as part of the assistance provided by Romania to Moldova to fight the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, IPN reports, quoting a press release of Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau.
According to the Embassy, the Romanian medical personnel integrated into the daily activity of the hospitals and took part in the clinical and para-clinical assessment of patients, their nursing, administration of treatment, monitoring, specific medical interventions and psychological support at the highest professional level. The Romanian personnel had excellent and efficient communication with their Moldovan colleagues throughout the duration of the mission.
The medical staff of SMURD Romania helped to transfer patients from Cahul and Bălți to Chisinau by special vehicles of SMURD Moldova. The members of the medical humanitarian mission “Romania for Moldova” offered efficient and high-quality medical assistance to patients and medical and non-medical personnel of the sections where they worked and laid the basis for fruitful cooperation between Romanian and Moldovan teams.
At the end of the mission, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ioniță handed over a gratitude diploma to the Romanian medical personnel in appreciation for the courage and professionalism shown during April 30 – May 15.
