The President of Romania Klaus Iohannis is convinced that solutions will be found in Chisinau to keep Moldova on the path of European integration and this issue should hold the greatest interest, IPN reports, quoting the Romanian press.
“I spoke to President Timofti about these matters and I’m near him in the approaches he makes to overcome this difficult situation. I count on the maturity of the political class in Chisinau as they must find the best way to resolve the crisis, to install a powerful government and to keep the European course,” stated Klaus Iohannis.
As regards the possibility of early elections in Moldova, the Romanian head of state said the events are developing and he does not want to comment on particular details, but hopes a swift and good solution will be identified.
Asked about the accusations made by former Premier Victor Ponta, who reproached him on Facebook for not becoming involved in resolving the crisis over the Prut, Klaus Iohannis replied shortly that he does not care about the assertions of this person.
