Romanian Government to fund retransmission of TVR1 channel in Moldovan air
The Government of Romania is to examine at Tuesday’s sitting a draft decision on increasing funding for the Romanian Television Corporation to enable retransmission of TVR1 programmes on Moldova’s territory.
Under the draft decision, the Government is to supplement the budget of the Romanian Television Corporation with an additional RON 360.000 (about MDL 1.8 million) for this purpose.
The Ministry of Information Development of Moldova said earlier that the Romanian side stopped paying for the retransmission services in mid-June, causing daily losses of about MDL 25,000 to the Radio-communication state agency. On July 31, the Broadcasting Coordination Council decided to put under the hammer the state-owned TV network no.2, which relays the Romanian channel.
