Romanian Government assists Moldova in flood cleanup
Prime Minister Vlad Filat in a telephone conversation thanked his Romanian counterpart Emil Boc for the support provided in the cleanup activities following the floods, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government of Moldova.
Vlad Filat told Emil Boc about the situation in the flooded areas, assuring him that the aid will be distributed transparently and efficiently.
During his visit to the flood-stricken villages on July 22, Vlad Filat said the Government of Romania decided to provide supplementary aid to the €100 million promised earlier. An additional agreement between the Governments of the two countries will be signed the next days. The aid will consist of building materials for the about 700 houses that will be built for the flood victims who remained without homes.
Emil Boc said the Romanian Government’s decision is a gesture of goodwill, adding Romania is near the Moldovans affected by floods in this difficult period.
