The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu, who is in Chisinau on a visit, expressed his confidence that the pro-European parties of Moldova will ensure the continuity of the country’s European course, taking into consideration the choice made by the people in the November 30 parlaiemntary elections. He made such a statement in a meeting with his Moldovan counterpart Natalia Gherman, IPN reports.
“The utilization of all the benefits provided by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU and the economic integration into the EU market are a priority for our country,” stated Natalia Gherman, approving of the support provided by Romania in liberalizing the Moldovan products’ access to the EU market.
The two officials highlighted the developing bilateral political dialogue, which points to the strategic importance of the privileged relations between the two states. They welcomed the significant rise in the volume of trade, Romania becoming the main economic partner of Moldova. The ministers highly appreciated the projects implemented within development assistance programs, with four memorandums on the provision of €7 million in grants being signed recently.
Natalia Gherman congratulated her Romanian counterpart on his appointment and on the occasion of Romania’s National Day that is celebrated on December 1.
