Romanian Embassy in Chisinau inaugurates on-line scheduling for visa application
Starting Tuesday, November 14, the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau will inaugurate the on-line scheduling for Romanian visa application.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania announces that starting November 15, the consular section of the Embassy will begin processing the visa requests, and the issued visas will be valid as of January 1.
As of November 9, the Consulate of Romania in Chisinau will receive requests for collective visas from Moldovan citizens.
Due to the on-line system, obtaining visas will be possible without queuing. Romanian authorities say that the introduction of the system did not require any supplementary funds, because it was designed by the company with which the Romanian MFA has a consultancy contract for the construction of the web page.
The solicitant for Romanian visa must fill in an electronic form, on the basis of which he will be automatically scheduled. The form will include the name, surname, address and the personal code of the applicant. If the solicitant intends to go to Romania by his own car he will have to present the copy of the car’s matriculation certificate.
The figure of entries scheduled per day will vary, depending on the capacity of the consular section. In the first day of work, the consular section will start with 70 applications. By January 1, 2007, it is planned to reach 240 entries per day. The staff, as well as the technical equipment will be settled depending on the number of applications.
For 2007, MAE of Romania intends to open two general consulates in Cahul and Balti.
