Romanian Economy Days in Moldova started at the International Exhibition Complex “Moldexpo”.
The friendly relationships between Romania and the Republic of Moldova will become more complex and powerful if the economic relations between the two states will become more dynamic, declared Tuesday , the 27th of June, the president of the Committee for Foreign Commerce and International Economic Relationships, Florin Burada, during the opening ceremony of the Days of Romanian Economy in the Republic of Moldova, that will take place during the 27th of June – the first of July, at the International Exhibition Centre “ Moldexpo”.
Burada assured that the Romanian adherence to the European Union will affect positively the Moldovan economy, whose products will reach the European market easily.
The State Secretary of the Office for relationship management with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government, Dan Dumitru, said that the economic issue is a very important one in the adherence process. In this context, the action undertaken by the Republic of Moldova is a step forward towards a good neighboring policy with the European Union. The event comes to confirm Bucharest open policy regarding Chisinau, and the way the economic agents from Romania were welcomed confirms the fact that Chisinau is opened towards Bucharest, Romania and Europe, says the Romanian official.
The Romanian ambassador in the Republic of Moldova, Filip Teodorescu, expressed his appreciation for the joint effort of the two states to identify new fields of collaboration and interests regarding the development of commercial and production relationships between the economic agents from both states. According to the head of the Romanian diplomatic mission, the action is a chance for identifying possible Romanian investors.
The deputy minister of Economy and Commerce, Igor Dodon, said that starting with the first of January, Moldova will become an important link between the East and the West, will favor the Romanian colleges in the process of conquering the East, and those from the former Soviet Union – the ones from the European Union.
Romania is the second partner of the Republic of Moldova in the field of foreign trade and a permanent progress is registered. According to the Moldovan official, in the first 5 months of this year, the foreign commerce with Romania registered a 45% increase. “This is a clear example of commercial exchange progress, and the Government will make all necessary efforts for assuring a permanent increase” Dodon mentioned.
About 50 Romanian companies participated at the Days of Romanian Economy in the Republic of Moldova and their number will increase during the following 5 days. The event gathers prestigious Romanian companies that present latest generation industrial products and advanced technologies, as well as food, cosmetic, agriculture and textile products.
The Moldovan - Romanian business forum will take place on the 30th of June where important personalities from the economic sphere of the two states will participate. The Moldovan business people are invited to participate in a Program regarding the facilitation of business contacts.
According to the statistics quoted by the Romanian press, the foreign trade between Romania and the Republic of Moldova constituted in 2004 412 million dollars, with a negative balance of 240 million dollars for the Republic of Moldova. The export to Romania constituted last year 85 million dollars, and import 326 million dollars.
