Romanian company expands its business in Chisinau, intends to hire 100 engineers

The Romanian company "EBS Electric Group", specialized in the production of electronic components, extended its operations into the Republic of Moldova, with a total planned investment of €5 million in the next four years, with the first tranche of €500,000 to be allocated in 2025, IPN reports.

The company will hire 100 engineers from the Republic of Moldova and will initially open a printed circuit board assembly line, with a capacity of 14,000 components per hour. Subsequently, production will be expanded to four lines, with a capacity of 100,000 components per hour.

Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba welcomed the investors' decision, stressing that the Republic of Moldova, as a future member state of the European Union, is an attractive destination for businesses.

"I am glad that these investors chose the Republic of Moldova, a future member state of the European Union. This investment points of foreign investors’ confidence in the economy of the Republic of Moldova and in its growth potential," said Deputy Prime Minister Alaiba.

According to 2023 data, 4,900 companies with capital from EU member states operate in the Republic of Moldova, with total investments of €20 billion lei. Over 81% of the foreign direct investment in the economy come from the European Union.
