Romanian Ambassador will come to Chisinau in a month
The new Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Marius Lazurca will take up the post in a month, spokesman for the Moldovan Foreign Ministry Valeriu Turea said at a briefing on February 25, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Turea said Marius Lazurca is completing his duties as Ambassador to the Holy See and will then come to Chisinau.
Marius Lazurca, 38, is native of Timisoara. Earlier, Romania's Foreign Minister Teodor Baconsky said the new Romanian Ambassador to Moldova should be very intellectual as the elites in Moldova are very sensitive to this dimension.
Romania and Moldova have not had ambassadors in Chisinau and Bucharest since April 2009. Following the violent April protests in Chisinau, the Moldovan authorities declared the Romanian Ambassador Filip Teodorescu persona non gratae and then recalled the Moldovan Ambassador in Bucharest Lidia Gutu.
