Romania will receive over €1 billion from the European Commission to fight the infection with the novel coronavirus, Mediafax reports on its website that is quoted by IPN.
The European Union offers Romania money for managing the coronavirus pandemic. The measure was announced by a letter addressed to the Romanian authorities that was signed by European Commissioners Elisa Ferreira and Nicolas Schmit.
Romania will not be requested to return the unused pre-financing of the structural funds (€483 000 000 euro), while the advance of the structural funds for 2020 will be transferred in March and April (€637 000 000 euro).
