Romania was and will remain the most consistent supporter of the Republic of Moldova. The development of the bilateral dialogue is a strategic objective. Such statements were made by the heads of the two executives in a news conference in Chisinau. Pavel Filip and Viorica Dancila said a joint meeting of the governments will be held in the first half of this year to discuss among others projects proposed for being financed with the non-reimbursable loan provided by Romania to Moldova in 2015, IPN reports.
Viorica Dancila said Romania’s relationship with Moldova remains special. Romania will continue, as until now, to support the Republic of Moldova in the European integration process. For the joint meeting of the governments, the Moldovan executive should prepare a list of pretty projects that necessitate investments so that the €60 million available from the €100 million loan provided in August 2015 disbursed.
For his part, Pavel Filip said the Romanian authorities supported unconditionally the internal reforms of Moldova and the reforms related to the association with the European values. In the meeting with the Romanian counterpart, it was agreed to strengthen the strategic partnership so that the bilateral relations are excellent.
The Premier also said that Romania ranks first among the states with the largest investments in the Republic of Moldova. The enterprises with Romanian capital are the most numerous ones on the Moldovan market. He voiced hope that the project to interconnect the Moldovan gas system to the Romanian one, which is being implemented, will be completed as soon as possible and Moldova’s energy security will be ensured at a high level.
While in Chisinau, Romanian Premier Viorica Dancila will also have a meeting with Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu. Together with Pavel Filip, she will take part in a meeting with representatives of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion and will inaugurate the Association of Romanian Investors in the Republic of Moldova.
