Romania's support for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova remains firm, and the strategic partnership between the two countries is being strengthened. Moldova’s Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and the interim President of the Romanian Senate Mircea Abrudean underlined this commitment in a joint press statement.
During the meeting, the two officials reaffirmed the importance of continuing the bilateral cooperation between the two states, emphasizing the constant support provided by Romania to the Republic of Moldova in its European path.
"Romania is and will remain a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova. We want a prosperous, safe and integrated country into the European Union," said Mircea Abrudean, underlining Romania's involvement in joint infrastructure and energy projects, including the construction of bridges over the Prut River and the modernization of railways.
The official added that Romania will continue to support projects that will contribute to the economic development of the Republic of Moldova and its complete integration into the European family.
For his part, Igor Grosu thanked Romania for its constant support, stressing that Romania is a key partner in Moldova's European integration process.
"I had a fruitful discussion with President Abrudean, during which we approached topics of major importance for both countries," Igor Grosu said.
The officials underlined the importance of continuing the works on the A8 Union Highway and strengthening energy security in the context of regional challenges. Emphasis was placed on the need to intensify cooperation in the energy sector, taking into account regional energy security.
In the face of regional and global challenges, the interlocutors stressed the need for closer and more effective cooperation, reaffirming that the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania is essential for mutual stability and prosperity.
